  U.K. Nurse Vaccinated With Covid Shot Has Covid Weeks After Getting Vac!

  someone i know from england is a nurse.

  she told me there was an outbreak at the hospital and she got the virus after being vaccinated.

  she said she was told it probably would have been much worse for her had she not gotten vaccinated.

  I know of a nurse in the UK who had covid last year, got the vaccine in December and is in hospital now with Covid in January. She's BAME which puts her in a higher risk group.

  Collapse of JW Org - Possibly on the Horizon?

  this topics get a great deal of discussion here.

  what i find interesting is even some of my pimi family is embracing the reality that all is not well with jw.org and that many current jws are just going through the motions due to not having a good way out of the org.

  wondering what could realistically lead to the collapse of jw.org in the not distant future?

  I think the biggest threat is a splinter of schism at some point. For true believers the stress of trying to figure out which one represents "the truth" would be unbearable. Otherwise I think the show descent into obscurity and irrelevance will continue for the next decades.

  Have you ever known elders who were more into being and elder than really being a believer?

  i have known many elders who were much more into the idea of being an elder and getting all the old ladies to tell them what wonderful talks they give and the power then really being a believer.

  i had one elder tell me that when he became an elder he was on top dog on top of the heap.

  i knew some who were really all about the religion and following the cult.

  i am reading her book " leaving the witness " just now - it is superb - i just can't put it down.

  it's been a while since i was anywhere close to being active here, or on any other ex-jw forum or facebook group.

  i rarely think about the religion and have little-to-no interest in it.. however, i do, very occasionally pop in here.

  Manchester Assembly Hall

  many years ago, the managers house was sold, and two flats built, high up above the stage, one for the manager (then derek carter) and one for the district overseer, a redundant position now.

  who has the flats now.. also the figures on the charity commissions site, show the hall operating at a loss, surely not..

  The operating costs were always a con. No idea who has the flats now, I remember going in the C.O's one at some point.

  Do Any Of You Dream About JW Friends You had ?

  what prompted this topic was a dream i had last night where i was engaged in a conversation i had with an old friend where i was trying to prove where the jw`s were wrong from their own bible.. and this is not the first time i have had such dreams.. often times i have had dreams about people i have known in the religion .. remember i have been away from the religion for more than 26 years now and in a totally different part of the country .. i now wonder if any of them ever dream about my wife and i ?

  but that`s something i`ll never know.. do any of you have any such experiences ?.

  maybe i`m spending too much time on this site lol.

  Yes I do. Especially about my cousin who was my best friend growing up. I haven't seen her for nearly 10 years now.

  Apostasy film just got nimonated for a BAFTA.

  it didn't win but it was nominated in the outstanding debut film category!

  wow!.

  they showed a clip and gave a very short explanation of the plot.

  I did a double take when I heard it announced as I had the TV on in the background. I believe one of the actresses was nominated too.
